See Inside®

Our commitment to transparency

Protecting your eyes from the sun is important, but doing it while also preserving the planet is even better.

At Otaaki, our goal is to help you see better and to see inside – inside our products and inside of us. Our motto, See Inside®, embodies this commitment.

Through our transparency labelSee Inside®, we strive to be as transparent as possible about our choice of raw materials, partners, and manufacturing techniques.

We want to help you see things more clearly!

OUR MATERIALS:

Qualityinnovationtraceability, and eco-responsibility are the key words.

At Otaaki, we carefully select each of our suppliers to offer you increasingly durable eyewear without compromising on quality.

After our initial collections featuring upcycled (Ocean) and biodegradable materials (Organic), we are now revolutionizing the world of eyewear with the world’s first line of eyewear (Infinity) with frames and lenses made from the same material. They are recycled AND infinitely recyclable!

PRODUCTION:

The development of our glasses is carefully done in our Paris offices. Our designer and optician work daily to create collections that are increasingly colorful and inspired by you.

The manufacturing of our glasses takes place in our own factory in Zhuhai, China, by skilled artisans with unique craftsmanship. For 40 years, China has been the world's leading producer of frames and lenses, developing undeniable expertise and know-how.

Owning our own factory allows us to have direct oversight into our production chain and our quality control.

SHIPPING:

At Otaaki we consider the impact of transportation starting in the production stage. The location of our factory near Guangzhou and Hong Kong, where most of our European and Chinese suppliers manufacture their products, allows us to reduce our CO2 emissions, prioritizing a green economy.

Once production is complete and we are ready to ship our product to you and our warehouses – we look to limit CO2 emissions by favoring maritime transport over air transport.

Though we’re not quite there yet, we are exploring the possibility of rail transport, which would further reduce CO2 emissions by four.
